📌 Step-by-Step Examples – Profit & Loss

1. Question 1: Watch bought for ₹1200, sold for ₹1500. Profit percentage? Step 1: Profit = SP – CP = 1500 – 1200 = 300
   Step 2: Profit % = (Profit ÷ CP) × 100 = (300 ÷ 1200) × 100 = 25%
2. Question 2: Fan bought for ₹3000, sold for ₹2700. Loss percentage? Step 1: Loss = CP – SP = 3000 – 2700 = 300
   Step 2: Loss % = (Loss ÷ CP) × 100 = (300 ÷ 3000) × 100 = 10%
3. Question 3: Person bought 5 items for ₹1000 and sold each for ₹250. Total Profit? Step 1: Cost per item = 1000 ÷ 5 = 200 Step 2: Profit per item = SP – CP = 250 – 200 = 50 Step 3: Total Profit = 50 × 5 = ₹250
4. Question 4: Cost of book ₹500, sold at 10% loss. Selling Price? Step 1: Loss amount = 10% of 500 = 50 Step 2: SP = CP – Loss = 500 – 50 = ₹450
5. Question 5: Shirt sold for ₹880 at 10% profit. Cost Price? Step 1: CP = SP ÷ (1 + Profit%) = 880 ÷ (1 + 0.1) = 880 ÷ 1.1 = ₹800
